The first thing that caught my eye about this book was the cute little pink monster on the cover. I needed to see more of this cute little monster. The visuals were amazing. I loved the contrast of the vibrant pinkness that Betty emitted around her. A wonderful story about being true to yourself and not needing to conform to societal norms and be your true cute pink self.

A young magician's apprentice sets out for revenge against a rival magician, only to uncover a far more sinister scheme. This dual-perspective tale alternates between Bartimaeus, whose wit and wisdom add humor to the story, and Nathaniel, whose viewpoint is more serious and short-sighted. It is a wonderful journey and entry into the series.
