The Dickinson Public Library has closed in response to the rise of COVID cases in the City of Dickinson and surrounding areas. The library is dedicated in providing the safest environment for our community and staff members. While the library is closed you may still reserve materials online for curbside service. We will not be applying fines during this time for late returns though we do encourage you to either return your checked out materials through curbside service or our drop-off window on the side of the building. Each year the American Library Association honors books, videos, and other outstanding materials for children and teens. Recognized worldwide for the high quality they represent, the ALA Youth Media Awards, including the prestigious Newbery, Caldecott, Printz, and Coretta Scott King Book Awards, guide parents, educators, librarians, and others in selecting the best materials for youth.

The Teens' Top Ten is a "teen choice" list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year! Nominators are members of teen book groups in fifteen school and public libraries around the country. Nominations are posted on the Thursday of National Library Week, and teens across the country vote on their favorite titles each year. Readers ages twelve to eighteen will vote online between August 15-October 12 on the Teens' Top Ten site. The winners will be announced the following week after.
As a patron of the library, teens have the option of requesting a book to be added to our young adult collection. Patron can also request books through our Interlibrary loan (ILL) as well.
Yalsa (Young Adult Library Service Association) has announced its 2020 Teen's Top Ten List. You can check these books either from in physical or electronic format, depending on what we have in our collection.
