The Dickinson Public Library has closed in response to the rise of COVID cases in the City of Dickinson and surrounding areas. The library is dedicated in providing the safest environment for our community and staff members. While the library is closed you may still reserve materials online for curbside service. We will not be applying fines during this time for late returns though we do encourage you to either return your checked out materials through curbside service or our drop-off window on the side of the building. Please call us at (281)534-3812 if you have any questions or need library assistance.
Beginning May 4th, 2020, the Dickinson Public Library will provide curbside circulation for books and DVDs. Curbside will be available Monday-Friday from 10-5 pm, with final pickups done by 5 pm. Individuals who would like to utilize this service will need to have a valid Dickinson Public Library card and be in good standing with the Galveston County Library System. Patrons will need to reserve the books online in our online catalog or call the library, and we can assist them over the phone. We will be limiting check-outs to 5 items per library card.
We are asking that patrons give the staff a one-hour window to pull and process the books for check-out before heading to the library for pick-up. When you arrive at the library to pick up your materials, please call the library at 281-534-3812 and give us your name along with the make/model/color of your vehicle, and a staff member will bring the books out to you. We ask that you park in front of the library building so we can quickly locate your vehicle. The library is following American Library Association guidelines and quarantining the books for 72 hours before handling them and checking them back into the library collection. Along with quarantining the books, we are also sanitizing them as well. We are striving to make this service as safe as we can for both staff and the community until the library can open back up to full functionality.
